Introduction:
John Donne Sonnet with the title sweetest love deals with theme of love. The poem is address by the lover to his beloved it. Present before us the scene parting between the lover and his beloved.
Subject matter:
The poem opens with
the lovers accurately that he is going away, from her not because he is tired
from her or he hopes to find a better person than his beloved. The only reason
why he is going away from her is his death. The lover accept his physical death,
is a fake death his real death would take place only if he discontinues loving
her.
The lover gives example of the sun. The Sun that went away the previous night has come back again though the sun has neither sense nor desire to come back. Compared to that he has both – sense and desire, so he would make his journey speedier than the sun and he will come back the next day.
Conclusion
The concluding stanza of the poem is the lovers request to his beloved. She should not think anything said and bed because destiny plays a vital role. So for the lives together and after that they would sleep side by side, in there in Grave the lovers want to assure her that nothing can cause parting between him and his beloved.
