Hello readers,
here I share my classroom online discussion activity.
here I share my classroom online discussion activity.
How far can you disagree
with the views expressed? Give your arguments in context of Cultural Studies
and Post colonialism.
So here my interpretation,
according to my understanding.
If any people's belongs to the third
world country so they do the post colonial reading or can cultural context
reading. So I have question that without politics literature can
possible? No doubts if possible so it can be considered good literature? For that So we have to adopt the reality of society and also adopt the negative side
also, why we hide all those things.
I am agree with this here Sharmeen's point also same Sharmeen's first Oscar award winning
documentary film, A Girl in the River, portrayed a negative side of
India. Has been much celebrated at home. Deservedly so. In this documentary, she has presented
reality of women's life that how women in Pakistan are suffering by the honour
killing which may bring change in women's life after showing the true picture
of it. Once reality came out, we can change the bad situation but if it is
still hidden we can't do anything as there are so many crimes happen with women
daily which can't reported in news or by any documentary like this.
In literature so we can find there are many such a novelist, writer, their book
also banded or can say not publish. Because of portrait negative side of India
were many such reasons like India dark side portrait. There is some kind of
cultural conflicts so other cannot digest that idea for example Arvind Adiga
how the Portrait of the story of India. Slum dog Millionaire Danny Boyle, how
the way he portraying in India so in Slumdog Millionaire. We find
postcolonial aspect there is camera focus on railway station stone there is a
name of Englishman. But Indians doesn't find problem with that.
As for our anxiety about portraying a positive image, I would argue that why
else is reader’s demand why readers read only Bright Side of India or they
want only good things for country. Positive’ images are projected to that
audience? In our society the readers wants to know about the good things
about the nation. They didn't think that what the actual image of our country
is. We have to fight our battles, celebrate our heroes and tell our stories
truthfully.
Thank you.
