Thinking Activity of The Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett.

                          

                                                                               

1)    1)      What connection do you see in the setting (“A country road. A tree. Evening.”) of the play and these paintings?

                

                    The setting tree Street picture the reference of the Second World War Part of Civilization culture that way in there. Setting is inspired by painting by ‘Casper Divide’ find. And there are authentic sources say , Becket seen this painting in a gallery.

                     And he also agree that I’m inspires by this there is a tree, setting sun there are two parson, and title is that painting is “Longing” painting is  also longing for some. Waiting has mining has longing,  also because longing has a title of this painting. He use waiting instead of  longing. Longing for Godot also, he use to longing for waiting . waiting is incorporate craving for something desiring for something .

2)  The tree is the only important ‘thing’ in the setting. What is the importance of tree in both acts? Why does Beckett grow a few leaves in Act II on the barren tree -The tree has four or five leaves - ? 

              Tree is the important symbol in both the acts. In act 1 the tree was barren, and whole day Vladimir and Estragon have spent in waiting for Godot. But he didn’t come, but in act two there were four or five leaves on the tree which suggests that time goes on every thing change but we not  everything is not as same as it was, and that change is the meaning in nothingness.

3)   The director feels the setting with some debris. Can you read any meaning in the contours of debris in the setting of the play?

          Debris we read second word Barren the foreign  city. fallen because of the compartment of the second word war that image gets connected .

4)  Can we do any political reading of the play if we see European nations represented by the 'names' of the characters (Vladimir - Russia; Estragon - France; Pozzo - Italy and Lucky - England)? What interpretation can be inferred from the play written just after World War II? Which country stands for 'Godot'?

                If we see frame the name they are representing country, Vladimir is a Russia  name, estragon as a French name, pozzo is Italy ,lucky is England in this country his remain. in the second word war setting that can be read journey    also ( Hitler reading )and all the country they not serious not  about right of people . all those country just passing time, something good will happened.

               All those kind of thing if something wrong goes people start, fighting then perhaps   life threat his hanging all every body. with bad threat to over life we are living, we are happy we are enjoying with this threat  we are enjoying. Thai is how its optimistic life. ( old man and the sea  defeat   , destroyed , incoming, keep on coming.) this play highly optimistic it is not pessimistic.

                Relation between England and Ireland , as we have seen the video what is united kingdom. Is Scotland different country combine together and become united kingdom. So Ireland  is struggle for it’s liberty, from England. Irish people always think  that”  Irish and England. “ for example Indian think “ “India and Pakistan”, and some part f Kashmir were it’s kind of issue and pride of both the country.

               Same in Ireland and England also. Becket is Irish and he think that, over people are so docile do not fight appropriate.  With England for Liberty for Freedom, Lucky is Ireland and pozzo is England so control of the Ireland this  kind of  relationship.

5)  The more the things change, the more it remains similar. There seems to have no change in Act I and Act II of the play. Even the conversation between Vladimir and the Boy sounds almost similar. But there is one major change. In Act I, in reply to Boy;s question, Vladimir says: 

                 More the thing change ,more the thing similar. in there one change Dialogue is similar but speaker is change it’s see similar but it’s not similar. And Tree but there is one leaf so something is changing, this is also there second act he say (vladimir ) “You show me”. Not us this is selfishness in his mind.              I should have salvation only. Vladimir think that now I want to only think myself one of the two  were save. From the beginning they keep thinking of who will have redemption and dimension.  

6)  Do you think that the obedience of Lucky is extremely irritating and nauseatic? Even when the master Pozzo is blind, he obediently hands the whip in his hand. Do you think that such a capacity of slavishness is unbelievable?

                 Slave morality is what normally everybody, have within themselves. when if you have to get out of it then have to think constantly.

What I am doing.

Large number as of people are suffering so morality.

Other quality of the master slave is open mindedness, courage, truthfulness, trust, and accrues sense of the self awards, self love, come self worth, self branding . Normally is spontaneously idea of the truth, rather than impose or postpone Idea praise and impress is more Idea rather than normal.


              Pozzo is blind  but still he reminds they that is something he says never Corporation the master any form. lucky and pozzo one pair there is another pair is theory Vladimir and estragon.


           Godot is opportunity where is come its recognizing and one is lost.

7)     Did you feel the effect of existential crisis or meaninglessness of human existence in the irrational and indifference Universe during screening of the movie? Where and when exactly that feeling was felt, if ever it was?

                  Setting  existentialism it's universe is an different over surrounding, in different to us up till now literature essentialism connect between setting actors surrounding and domain motherly nature and the human being take care of everything. represent eating emotion and feeling everything is cut down in existentialism.

8)   Which of the following sequence you liked the most:

o   Vladimir – Estragon killing time in questions and conversations while waiting

o   Pozzo – Lucky episode in both acts

                                  Because  to coming from a child they conversation give our interest in it increases in watching.

9)        How are the props like hat and boots used in the play? What is the symbolical significance of these props?

         Starting with frame of the boots and head first is very strong symbol in the play is unfold in the play people is live a life of boots it's all physical material life and the people you live in spiritual or of life hi thinking hat. Meaningless of one existence whatever they do this is ultimately and of life. A way something . in the play Vladimir is constantly playing with his hat, which suggests intellectuality. And Estragon is playing with his boots, which suggests material life.
